Definition of pressure sensor: It is a device that senses pressure and converts it into electrical signals. The signal strength depends on the applied pressure. It is widely used in various industrial self-control environments, involving water conservancy and hydropower, railway transportation, intelligent buildings, production Automatic control, aerospace, military, petrochemical, oil wells, electric power, ships, machine tools, pipelines and many other industries.
Under the premise of using pressure sensors: we need to understand the types and functions of pressure sensors:
First, confirm the type of pressure sensor.
(1) Electromechanical: The internal mechanical structure of the product, a pressure sensor assembled by springs, levers, adjusting screws, metal covers, etc. and contact modules. There is no processing circuit inside, and the output is switching. Pressure switch form. Generally, the action threshold can be adjusted or set by screws; the volume is larger, but it is cheaper and the accuracy is lower.
(2) Electronic type: The pressure sensor has a ceramic or metal measuring isolation diaphragm. The isolation diaphragm is in direct contact with the substance to be detected. The pressure on the surface of the diaphragm causes slight deformation of the diaphragm. The sensor can be measured by deformation The principle of the spring resistance or capacitor senses the magnitude of the deformation, and outputs the corresponding switching action or analog signal through the subsequent mechanical, electrical (bridge) equipment.
2. Confirm the installation type.
The control circuit is also the power circuit.
Three, confirm the type of measurement pressure.
Pressure types mainly include gauge pressure, absolute pressure, and differential pressure.
(1) Gauge pressure refers to a pressure that is less than or greater than atmospheric pressure based on atmospheric pressure;
(2) Absolute pressure refers to the pressure which is higher than the absolute pressure zero based on the absolute pressure zero;
(3) Differential pressure refers to the difference between two pressures.
For example: Omron brand
2SMPP-02 MEMS Gauge Pressure Sensor
2SMPP-03 MEMS Measuring Pressure Sensor
2SMPB-02B MEMS absolute pressure sensor
IV. We need to confirm the measurement range when using:
In general, the actual measurement pressure is selected as 80% of the measurement range.
V. Confirm the power supply and output signal.
Provide four kinds of output signal selection, including relay output, solid state output and analog output (4 ~ 20mA or 0 ~ 10V). (For electronic pressure sensors)
The solid state output is divided into single-stage switch and double-stage switch.
26. Confirm the maximum overload of the system.
The maximum overload of the system should be less than the overload protection limit of the pressure sensor, otherwise it will affect the service life of the product and even damage the product.
7. Confirm the pressure interface form.
Including: G1 / 4A (BSP), 1 / 4NPT, SAE 7 / 16-20 UNF, 4 × G1 / 4 (BSP), G3 / 8, etc.
8. Confirm the compatibility of the measurement medium and the contact material.
In some measurement occasions, the measurement medium is corrosive. At this time, materials compatible with the measurement medium or special processing should be selected to ensure that the transmitter is not damaged.
Confirm the accuracy level.
The measurement error of the transmitter is divided according to the accuracy level. Different accuracy corresponds to different basic error limits (expressed as a percentage of full-scale output). In practical applications, it is performed according to the control requirements of measurement error and in accordance with applicable economic principles select.
X. Confirm the operating temperature range.
The temperature of the measurement medium should be within the working temperature range of the transmitter. If it is used at excessive temperature, it will cause a large measurement error and affect the service life. During the production process of the pressure transmitter, the temperature effect will be measured and compensated. To ensure that the measurement error caused by the temperature of the product is within the range required by the accuracy level. In the case of high temperature, you can consider choosing a high temperature pressure sensor or taking auxiliary cooling measures such as installing a condenser (apparatus) and a radiator.
11.Confirm the working environment of the site and others.
It is necessary to know whether there is vibration and electromagnetic interference, etc., and provide relevant information when selecting, in order to take corresponding treatment; when selecting, other such as electrical connection methods should also be considered according to circumstances.
